As Thurles is located on the River Suir one of the sister rivers of the Nore and the Barrow, Angling is a popular activity along the banks of this gently flowing river.
Or a visit to one of the many stables for some horse riding may be what you'd rather. Tipperary is known for its equestrian centre's, the original famous Coolmore Stud is located in South Tipperary.
Thurles is also home to the famous Semple Stadium. So while your visiting here you could enjoy a game of Hurling or Gaelic Football.
